Oneofthefirstthingsthatanaudiencemembernoticedwasthegrandeuroftheset.Itwascomposedofagothic-styleforegroundwithrustictwigsofaroot-likeearthyappearance.Thereweregrandarchesforwindowsandentriesaswell.Also,thebackgroundwasalargearchwiththesilhouetteofroots.Therewerealsotwomatchinggreek-stylepillararchesoneithersideofthestage.Theyaddedalottomanymessagesoftheshow.Forone,theyweregrandstructuresthatwerebarreninsidewhichismuchlikeMr.Rochesterhimself.Hewasamanofhighsocialstaturebutfeltenslavedbyhistrickofamarriageandhisgrandyetincomplete(withoutatruelove)home.Thearchesalsosuggesttheimportanceofreputationwiththesamesortoffundamentalgrandimageyetemptiness.Thewaythatpeopleareenslavedyetscrambletoascertainthatsolidimageamongsttheirpeers.Thearcheswerealmostinvitingtheaudiencetocomeinsidetorevealtheirsecret,thethingthatwashiddendeepinsidethatcouldsendthestructurecrumblinginruin.
