海啸的英文为什么叫Tsunami
其实，英语中的这个词“Tsunami”是从日语中来的。主要原因：
1946年に起きたアリューシャン地震の际、日系移民が用いたことからハワイで「Tsunami」の语が使われるようになり、アメリカでも広く用いられるようになったため、「Tsunami（津波）」は国际语となった。
英语にも「津波」を表す「tidalwave」という语があるにもかかわらず「Tsunami」が用いられるのは、上记経纬のほかに、「tidal」は「潮」を意味する言叶であり、津波が満干によって起こる现象ではないためと考えられる。
